They are usually classed as Industrial, but a lot of their stuff is very alternative, otherwise they wouldn't get airplay, would they. A lot of people dis these guys because they proclaim stuff like "We are the best band in the world", but who cares. If your in a band, and you DON'T think it's the best band in the world, then I'd say you need to be looking for another band! I could write an entire article on Filter, and I may at some point, but for now, let's just say: when Trent Reznor uses you on the road, you work with the likes of Maynard and Smashing Pumpkins, and you are sought after for movie soundtracks, I'd say your doing pretty well.
A few of my personal favorites would be "Cancer", "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" (with The Crystal Method), "It's Gonna Kill Me", "Welcome to the Fold", and of course everyone loves "Hey Man, Nice Shot". Whew! I had to stop myself at my top five songs there!

Rob Halford took a lot of heat for leaving Judas Priest, grabbing a bunch of "young pup" musicians, and forming this band, but I loved them! I am pretty sure they only put out two albums, "War of Words", and "A Small Deadly Space", but both of these were great in my opinion. I still listen to them...on repeat, no less!
Halford's vocals on these were great. I preferred them to the stuff he did on on albums like "Painkiller" with Priest just before that. Yes, I heard all my fellow metal heads gasp at that. Sorry...I really feel that way!
A few choice tunes from Fight would be : The WHOLE "War of Words" album ( Okay, at least ""Life in Black", "Immortal Sin", "Laid to Rest", "For All Eternity", "A Little Crazy", and "Contortion"!...oh and "Reality - A New Beginning"), and "I Am Alive", "In a World of My Own Making", and "Mouthpiece", from "A Small Deadly Space", but as you can see, I STILL prefer "War of Words". The vocals were total raw Halford.
Speaking of which, uh...we will get to them later...after with the rest of the "F" words, which I will have to hit later.
