NaNoWriMo on a Sour Musical Note? NAH!

Thus far, I have failed to meet ANY of my "NaNoWriMo on a Musical Note" challenges! I have barely touched my bass, I have no recording method set up yet, and I haven't had time to touch my friends poems / songs. I have yet to TOUCH that file cabinet with all the songs in it, so that will not be happening this month, either. In fact, although I have kept up with all of my editorial duties, I have yet to get much over 10,000 words in my regular NaNoWriMo challenge.

That is the bad news. The good news is that I have been inspired enough to write twenty articles this month, in addition to my editorial duties, and I have at least a dozen more in the works. Those and a few more should be done this month. I think I may have gotten a dozen articles in sideways last month, so I feel pretty good about that. Then again, I was working at a haunted house last month, so that did take up most of my time, but I'm still feeling pretty accomplished this month so far.

Some more good news. I may be "back in the saddle" again soon! The saddle of my bass, that is! I have a new band project in the works, well, potentially, but it looks good. Sounds like loads of fun too. Tribal Industrial Gothic Metal...right up my alley! I can't wait! It is going to be very theatrical, so I get to wear all my crazy costumes, and probably create some new ones as well.

I can't wait to show off the new masks I am working on. They are "music related", and "music friendly". That is all the hints I am giving out, but they should fit right in. I had hoped to have my web cam and sound issues straight, so that I could do a video of them, but I suppose I will have to make do with photos for now.

The new band  is just me on bass, a buddy from an old band on guitar, a singer, and a drum machine. We will be programming the drums. Hey, does that mean it will technically be a power trio? I love my power trios! I am hoping I'll get to sing a bit too, but I think this will have to be my new challenge "on a Musical Note".

The guitar player wants me to help come up with a crazy theatrical story line, a theme for the band, if you will. Well, I am a writer. Perhaps this will be my musical opus! Perhaps we will create our own rock opera! Here's to being challenged!
